  1. Kyoto tower. A recognizable, if not the most beautiful, landmark in Kyoto. First thing you see getting out of the train station.
  2. First temple I went to visit, there was this gal feeding all these birds. I'd never seen anyone get so close with pigeons, so I had to snap a picture. I like the bird in front of her and the one on her shoulder.
  3. This is the temple of the 1,000 buddhas. Yes, there are 1,000 representations of Buddha inside, all unique. No, I don't have any pictures. They ask visitors not to take pictures, and unlike some obnoxious foreigners, this obnoxious foreigner respects such requests. But it was neat. And this temple supposedly used to play host to samurai archery tournaments. Because the building is so long, they would have a range built right on the plaza alongside the building.
  4. I've forgotten the name of this place, but it was a beautiful temple built on a hill. the spring water in the fountains was delicious on this hot, humid day.
  5. More pictures to come.
